The build of our new restaurant has begun!

Posted: 6 Mar 2023

We’re pleased to announce that Meadow Croft Garden Centre is expanding! The build of our brand new on-site restaurant is well underway.

We recognise the importance of a great catering offer in a modern garden centre and have felt for a few years now that we have outgrown our existing catering offer. We want to ensure we give our visitors the very best experience while here at Meadow Croft.

Our new restaurant aims to encompass our traditional, core values of putting our customer first and giving them the food and drink offer we believe they enjoy; combining a more relaxed eating experience in our main restaurant with an offering in our ‘cosy coffee and cake lounge’.

The new ‘Meadow Croft Kitchen’ takes its inspiration from the garden & outdoors; materials will be natural; copper and lots of natural light and greenery throughout. Fabrics will be soft and welcoming in shades of green. To fall inline with our environmental policy, all tables and chairs will be hand crafted in the UK from ethically sourced wood.

There will be 2 gorgeous outdoor seating areas for our visitors to experience. The first is an undercover terrace where visitors can sit in the fresh air with some shelter from the elements, surrounded by the wonderful scents of our main plant area; and the second is our outdoor terrace that visitors can take in views of the rolling fields and feel the sun on their faces!

Our indoor area comprises of 230 seats with an additional 70 outdoor seats.

We are also super excited to have a 50 seat capacity function room which will be available for private hire; meetings, conferences, training sessions, baby showers, wakes and more. The function room also has its own private terrace.

In addition to our wonderful new ‘Meadow Croft Kitchen’, we will have new luxury customer toilets and facilities to accommodate the increased number of visitors.

Once the restaurant is launched, we will be utilising the existing restaurant to expand our retail area and make way for some fabulous, new and exciting lines. Watch this space!

‘‘We cannot wait to welcome you. We feel this is a new and exciting chapter for our family business and we are so looking forward to opening our new restaurant doors to you. We thank you for your continued custom, support and patience while we prepare our new addition and will keep you posted on special tasting and launch events that we are planning’’ – Lisa Smith, Director.

We love being a part of the local community and recognise the need for evening activities, either garden related or just a great evening out so we’d love to be able to offer more evening functions. We are keen to hear from you on what sort of events you’d like to see, feel free to email in info@meadow-croft.co.uk , message us on social media or fill out one of our feedback forms https://forms.gle/pzLHf7JJvoNMKHXC9 .

Not only will this new restaurant provide an exciting new space for Meadow Croft, but it will also open a lot of new opportunities to the business and local community, such as function space and recruitment! Any vacancies will be advertised on our Careers page as well as our social media channels.

The brand new Meadow Croft Kitchen is currently on track to launch in Autumn 2023!

We will keep you updated regularly with the progress of the build and launch dates/events closer to the time.

Tips to a great Poinsettia

❤️Only buy a plant that has not been exposed to draughts as this can cause the leaves to drop suddenly.

❤️Keep the plant wrapped for the journey home to protect it from the cold.

❤️Do not overwater or let the plant dry out. Consistent watering is the key to a healthy plant, using tepid water if possible. If the leaves turn yellow or fall off it is incorrectly watered. Only water when the plant is noticeably dry, lift the plant up and if it feels light it needs watering. Watering can be done from the top of the pot or by standing the pot in water for half an hour and then allowing to drain freely.

❤️Poinsettias need warmth and light but must be kept away from draughts including open windows, fireplaces, open doorways etc.
Temperatures between 15-22 degrees are ideal and preferably placed in a light spot.
