Customer Service Assistant (Casual)

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Assistant to support staff and customers across the garden centre as required. This is a casual role up until the end of December with a view to extending into the new year depending on the business needs. This is a 3/4 day per week position, which will include weekend working on a rota basis. Hours of work 8.45am – 5.00pm.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers and ensuring a positive customer experience at all times, through various communication channels like telephone, email and face to face interactions.

• Addressing enquiries and passing them to the relevant teams.

• Providing information about products and services, event information and hours of operation.

• Dealing with customer issues, complaints and feedback and escalating to managers where relevant.

• Maintaining a good understanding of all areas of the garden centre, including catering, in order to provide accurate information to customers.

• Assisting with stock input-goods in responsibilities, liaising with suppliers and relevant staff within the garden centre to ensure efficient delivery of stock.

• Assisting with additional/seasonal tasks such as pricing, hampers, gift wrapping.

• Supporting with seasonal events including German Market and other events.

• Assisting with other garden centre tasks as and when required, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.

• Supporting various departments/teams and undertaking any reasonable duties within that department.

General Duties:

• Ensure that health and safety regulations are observed at all times.

• Promote the image of W. D. Smith & Son and encourage team working across the business.

• Ensure professionalism and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

• Attend relevant training and take responsibility for own development.
